#1022 Using Investigative Genetic Genealogy to Help Law Enforcement Solve Cold Cases

This class will explain what is involved in using DNA and genealogy as law enforcement tools. We will discuss types of cases that have been solved with genetic genealogy; institutions offering degrees and certificates for investigative genetic genealogy; about the new Board of Certification for Investigative Genetic Genealogy; labs that offer genetic testing for law enforcement use; which genealogy websites allow law enforcement use; and the Department of Justice policy on the use of investigative genetic genealogy.

 

Melody Wilson, MS in Computer Science/Computer Systems Security from Colorado Technical University (CTU). She was the Adjunct Instructor at CTU. She created course material and lab exercises for three undergraduate evening courses on Security Architecture, Intrusion Detection, and Virtual Private Networks.
