#2030 Philosophical Discussion: Ethical Issues, Role Play, and Learn

Moderator: Daryl Kuiper

Philosophy is the love of knowledge. Daryl will act as moderator, but your views will be the substance of the discussion. You will either gain new insights or have your existing ones strengthened. This class will be an open discussion, so bring your opinions and ideas! A topic paper will be emailed to you to review before the class. The purpose of this paper is to stir your philosophical juices.

Through the philosophical classes that I have presented, we have discussed many ethical issues in theory. Those with enough chutzpah can try to put into action, during this role playing class, what we have discussed. The list of ethical dilemmas that will be presented is designed around everyday encounters. Frequently, it is the small decisions we make that truly define our moral character. Role playing is good practice no matter what you do: sports, speaking, music, etc. It lets you simulate your actions for further review before it really counts. It can be fun too. You can just observe the rest of us role playing or you can join in. Either way you will have fun and you will learn on top of it: a win-win. Let's play. First timers are invited.

Daryl Kuiper, MA in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska, and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Colorado. He has been a teacher, business owner, plumbing inspector supervisor, and a school administrator.
