#3065 History of the Steam Engine
Tuesday, December 9, 10:00am - 12:00pm
The steam engine was the first modern engine that generated enough power to do meaningful work. In this presentation, we
will cover the early days of steam engines, when the dangers of uncontrolled steam power caused many accidents, the
development and application of stationary engines, the motive force used to power marine and wheeled conveyances, and the
key role steam engines played in the development of railways.
