Description
#1005 Zoom: “Sanitarium City of the West:” The Tubercular Boom in Colorado Springs
Tuesday, January 13, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Treating tuberculosis and related medical businesses became the
major industry of the later 19th and early 20th centuries in Colorado
Springs. It was the source of improving one's habits, wholesomeness,
health care, “clean industry,” employment, and housing.
This combination brought and/or influenced much of Colorado
Springs' elite and artistic populations. In turn it also increased
death rates and decreased birth rates.
Location: Zoom. You will receive the Zoom link in the first
