Some sports fans might already recognize these names: Jim, a Native American, excelled in several professional sports; Jesse, an African American, confounded Hitler by winning Olympic gold medals; Joe, an African American, won boxing’s heavyweight title, and Roberto, an Hispanic, was a standout in baseball. All four men were champions and one of them is considered the greatest athlete in U.S. history.
